FAMILY OWNED WINERY

La Festeggiata is a small wine estate situated in Tuscany owned by a Danish family.

We fell in love with Italy and Tuscany many years ago, and bought the winery in 2017. Our journey in winemaking began and we are constantly exploring new methods and ideas and improving current techniques in both the cellar and the fields.

With our only 2 ha of vines we produce around 7500 bottles a year, it is mainly red wine but also a small portion of spumante, bubbles made on 100% sangiovese.

We have mainly sangiovese grapes and a small amount of merlot and cabernet sauvignon to add complexity to our wines.

Our production is led by a young team with Mirko Cianti carefully taking care of our vines and cellar activities and Paula Papini Cook our enologist from award winning Le Miccine winery guiding us in the process and sharing her knowledge in making only the best wines!

OUR CELLAR

A secret hidden door in the living room floor takes you down a narrow ladder to the cellar underneath the house. Raw stone walls and rooms filled with small oak barriques, big oak “botte” and steel tanks surrounds the production of La Festeggiata. The cellar underneath the house dates back to 17th century.

OUR VINEYARD

We have only 2 ha of vines at La Festeggiata. We mainly have sangiovese grapes along with some merlot and cabernet sauvignon, which we use to blend into our wines to add complexity.  Our top field at 540m above sea level is steep and is among the highest positioned vine fields in Chianti Classico.
